Still in the drop-off line at 7:52, with a kid who can't get out of the car?

"She's a joy in class." Then who sobbed through homework last night?

Said "you'll be fine" so many times it's stopped working?

I'm Dr. Dina O'Brien. For 25 years I've worked alongside pediatricians and psychiatrists, in the gap between "everything looks normal" and a kid who's still suffering. The stomachaches are real. What's driving them is often anxiety, and a pattern that was learned can be retrained.

  1. 1

A consultation call with Dr. O'Brien. You tell her what your mornings actually look like, she tells you plainly whether her approach fits.

  2. 2

If it fits: a structured plan, CBT and exposure-based, six to ten sessions on average. Your kid learns the skills. You learn exactly what to say at the door.

  3. 3

When anxiety is in the way at school, she writes the 504 documentation herself, usually within the first two to three sessions.

"Both paths are hard. One of them has an actual endpoint."
